Service was quick and food tasty. Pretty quiet when we arrived at six but filled up a bit later on. Overall an enjoyable meal for a good price.

We've eaten here a couple of times before and I'm pleased to say that the standard of the food remains as good as ever. The chef clearly knows what he's doing as the quality of the cooking is very high. It certainly isn't a cheap restaurant, but given the quality of the food I think it is very good value for money. My only gripe was that we booked via Godine via a £5 off promotion, and despite confirming this when we arrived it wasn't deducted from our bill (I only remembered after we got home, I guess I should have studied the bill more closely).

1877's pre-theatre menu is the best menu in Nottingham for value and quality. The food is English which is actually quite rare - most of the time its European. If you haven't been you have to try.

Can't believe the value of the pre-theatre! 3 very well presented and balanced courses were an absolute treat. We opted for the pork Terrine with black pudding, followed by a tasty steak and then the Chocolate Pot which was warm and gooey, cooked to perfection. My friends were extremely impressed and I will be going back soon no doubt. Cannot recommend the stunning value enough!
