Barollo and Grapes on Fletchergate, Nottingham

Barollo and Grapes is currently re-locating to another site in Nottingham. Watch this space to see how the new look restaurant takes place!!

Situated on Fletchergate in the trendy Lace Market district of Nottingham is a new addition to the Nottingham restaurant scene; Barollo, a restaurant dedicated to pasta, and its sister wine lounge, Grapes. Conveniently located just opposite the Lace Market tram stop and within five minutes’ walk of the Capital FM Arena, Broadmarsh Shopping Centre and Market Square it is the perfect venue to start, or finish, a day spent in Nottingham.

The restaurant, Barollo, and wine lounge, Grapes, are sit adjacent to each other and both provide a sophisticated wining and dining experience. Barollo is a chic restaurant with a gentle monochrome colour scheme, swapping white for cream to warm the dining room. With decadent light fittings and simply set tables, Barollo gives off an upmarket and hip vibe, perfect for an intimate meal for two or for groups of friends and family. Grapes offers a similar ambience with an impressive display of wines behind the bar and comfortable seating that make spending a few hours sampling any of the 200 different wines on offer a very pleasurable experience indeed.

Both Barollo and Grapes place an emphasis on sharing and trying new things. Barollo is a unique concept that Tiago Velasco has been working on for several years. With the tag line of ‘past and fantasy’, you know you are in for an inimitable dining experience. With a passion for fresh pasta, Barollo offers huge sharing dishes designed to feed two people with the aim to eradicate ‘can I have some of yours’ and replace it with ‘I’ll have some of this, and that too!’ Whether you are enjoying the spaghetti and beef ribs, cooked with roasted vegetables, red pesto, sundried tomatoes and topped with slow roasted beef ribs; the linguine and prawns in a creamy spicy seafood sauce with garlic grilled prawns, New Zealand mussels and clams; or the chocolate spaghetti in a white wine and chocolate sauce for dessert, every dish is packed with flavour and presented beautifully. Barollo also makes all of its pasta fresh, daily and on-site so you know you’re getting the very best flavours and textures possible.

Barollo and Grapes in the Lace Market, Nottingham, is a truly unique concept restaurant and wine lounge. It is perfect for special occasions and, as they believe in sharing, it is ideal for larger parties and groups who are looking for a sophisticated and exciting dining experience. A true haven for pasta and wine lovers.

  1. A truly exceptional restaurant. Me and my wife are both huge fans of pasta (and wine) so this restaurant is perfect for us! Really nice building, lovely staff and the food is just exceptional! We had the seafood linguine which was absolutely delicious and there was more than enough for the two of us. We shared a dessert - the fruit spaghetti- which was delightful. I urge everyone to go! You won't be disappointed!
