Emilios Greek Restaurant in Arnold, Nottingham

Emilio is back! After a couple of years away from the Nottingham restaurant scene, Emilios has returned with Emilios Greek Restaurant in Arnold. His experience and expertise as a host ensures that all diners will have a thoroughly enjoyable meal that will be memorable for all the right reasons.

Situated in Arnold, just a few minutes’ drive from Nottingham city centre, Emilios is the perfect venue to enjoy a lively meal, any day of the week. As you would expect, the décor has a Greek theme, but much more subtle than many other restaurants. A large blue bar with white pillars stands proudly in one corner whilst blue carpets make it feel as if you are walking on the sea. Large black leather sofas are ideal for perching on and enjoying a drink before your meal. The restaurant continues with the sophisticated Cypriot theme with black table cloths and chairs with simple place settings. A pop of red on one wall brings the whole room to life and mirrors make it feel even more airy and spacious than it already is.

The menu is a haven for lovers of Greek and Cypriot food. Offering many well-known classics such as Mousakka and Kleftiko as well as more unusual specialities such as Soutzoukakia, lamb sausage served in a spicy tomato sauce and Seafood Saganaki packed with prawns, mussels, clams and calamari cooked with tomatoes in wine with chillies, peppers, mushrooms and onions. There is also a good selection of vegetarian dishes throughout the menu, ensuring that most diners will find something to suit their requirements. As well as a delicious a la carte menu, Emilios also runs a selection of fantastic value offers such as set prices Mezze’s, party menus and special offers available throughout the week.

Emilios is a fantastic venue for every occasion. Whether you are looking for an intimate meal for two or a hosting a party for thirty, the lively atmosphere will have you tapping your toes along to the music and maybe even joining in the Greek dancing. On Friday and Saturday evenings there is live music followed by a DJ and every Thursday of the month a live jazz trio play songs from their classic American repertoire. Special Greek nights run approximately once a month which are not to be missed!

I wouldn't normally eat out of town but we fancied something different, and I'm pleased we did! Emilios had quite a few people in for a Wednesday, though the place looked like it could accommodate quite a lot more when full. We ordered from the set menu and were pleased with quality and quantity of the food. The service was friendly, though the waiter seemed very keen that we order a bottle of his Greek wine(?!) which we politely declined. Overall the place was a nice find and I'd happily eat there again.

As a customer who teaches within this industry I often find that I am very picky about the standards received at some relatively unknown restaurants. I would also like to say it is not often one finds a gem in the middle of a place such as this. I didn't expect too much when driving through the area at which it was situated but was pleasantly suprised and delighted with the whole meal experience from start to finish. The restaurant had a wonderfully welcoming family atmosphere and we were made to feel like regular diners even though this was our first time. The food was excellent, the atmoshpere was just right, the service was second to none and i felt the meal was excellent value for money. Needless to say, I will definately be frequenting this establishment in a few weeks time when I am back in notts.

Fabulous night at Emilios. Really enjoyed the managers company and felt I had been invited into his house. Starters were a great introduction to the feast choosing stuffed vine leaves. Mains were a delight and I even ordered a second stifado. I was treated to a cooling cocktail for my efforts finishing the night in excellent fashion. A great place for a warm genuine welcome particularly for larger groups, highly recommended.

The food is amazing, everyone was very welcoming from the moment we came to time we left. With it being my bday they made a big fuss of me and the other birthday party. Music was abit loud whilest we was eating however. We be booking to go there again
