Mandarin Restaurant in Nottingham City Centre

Situated less than three minutes’ walk from the Capital FM Arena and the centre of Nottingham’s trendy Lace Market district is Mandarin Cantonese restaurant. After a fire that wiped out the entire restaurant, Mandarin has risen from the ashes and come back bigger and better than ever, much to the pleasure of their loyal customer base.

Alan, the restaurant manager and owner, is incredibly proud of his restaurant and it’s not difficult to see why. A vast 120 seat restaurant that spans two floors and boasts everything from round tables with rotating centre pieces for up to 8 people entices groups in whilst the quieter nooks are ideal for smaller tables looking for a little intimacy.

Mandarin specialises in authentic, freshly prepared Chinese and Cantonese cuisine cooked using only the finest ingredients. The menu is extensive and offers everything from dim sum to fish and chicken and beef mains to soups. The chefs at Mandarin have years of experience under their belt and focus on recipes and cooking techniques that have been passed down from generation to generation. Popular choices include the Mixed Hors D’oeurvres which features salt and pepper ribs, pancake rolls and crispy won tons served with scallops to start. Mains include the classic aromatic duck, crispy shredded beef in Szechuan-style sauce, fried king prawns in a spicy sauce and monkfish cooked with ginger and spring onion. There is a large selection of vegetarian dishes available too which ensures that the restaurant is accessible to all diners. There are also a fabulous number of value for money set menus that include some of the more recognisable and popular dishes to be enjoyed at a leisurely pace.

Mandarin is one of the most popular Chinese restaurants in Nottingham. The stunning food, ideal location, friendly staff and spacious dining room makes it popular with everyone from large parties to couples. If you haven’t been yet, we highly recommend you do!
