Opium restaurant in Nottingham City Centre
Sprawling across three floors of one of the fashionable Lace Market district’s listed buildings is Opium. Located on Warser Gate just up the road from the Lace Market tram stop and in close proximity to the Capital FM Arena and the main hub of Nottingham’s night life, it is the ideal destination for a bite to eat before an evening out or a relaxing catch up with friends.
This stylish venue combines drinking, dining and dancing under one roof to provide the ultimate social experience. The ground floor bar is furnished with original antique Chinese screens, artefacts and opium beds which all combine to create an opulent and intimate space, reminiscent of the Shanghai Parlours of the early 1900’s. Featuring dishes such as crispy duck spring rolls and Gyozas, there has never been a better accompaniment to conversation and drinks.
The first floor restaurant and lounge is up a sweeping staircase with show-stopping glass walls and ceilings surrounding it. Simply but carefully furnished with chandeliers and Chinese lanterns to create a relaxed, Colonial-style dining area, it is a sophisticated space perfect for everything from an intimate meal for two right up to large parties and celebrations. Serving beautifully prepared and presented traditional and fusion Cantonese food featuring everything from crispy chilli shredded beef to prawns and pineapple, there is sure to be something on the menu to suit even the fussiest eater. The set menus are very good value for money and perfect for larger parties.
On the second floor you will discover the Forbidden Lounge; an indulgent space shrouded in an ambience of calm and relaxation. This is the perfect place to relax and unwind with a drink and gentle conversation with friends.
Opium Chinese restaurant is a multi-functional venue that offers a whole host of drinking and dining experiences all of which have a common theme of indulgence and luxury. Whatever your occasion, there is a dish and a room in the luxurious bar, restaurant and lounge to suit your requirements.

Booked a table for 6.00pm and had the early bird menu £10per head. Really lovely, thoroughly enjoyed the food and the atmosphere was cosy and laid back especially when the lights were dimmed. Service was great, my only criticism is the drinks were a bit pricey - £15 for 3 drinks but I guess you're out for the evening you can't sweat over that!

Food was as amazing as ever as was the service. We were sat downstairs this time, which to be honest wasn't as nice to dine in as the upstairs but we still had a great night.

Disappointing that it was so quiet. The waitresses were very attentive and helpful. Our food was from the £15 "Try as much as you like menu". It was delivered hot and to time, but was average. We spent time in the bar before and after the meal and the atmosphere here was excellent. At the end of our meal we got a buy 1 get 1 free drinks voucher which we weren't expecting - made it a good value evening.

Such an amazing place! The food was delicious and the staff were beyond brilliant. The place itself is so beautiful and the cocktails in the amazing bar downstairs were so tasty. We had the early bird menu for £10 and there was so much food, seriously great value for money. We then sat in the bar for hours! A really enjoyable evening. We have already arranged a second trip there for next month.

Excellent value for money as always on the Friday all you can eat deal. On this occasion we felt like we were being rushed though and service was not great. Overall - still great chinese food and at a great price and will definitely keep returning.
