Meat eaters rejoiced the day that Soulville Steakhouse opened in Nottingham city centre. Situated on Queen Street in the Elite building that houses super club Gatecrasher and just a stone’s throw away from Market Square, this restaurant could not be more centrally located.
The Soulville Steakhouse has established itself as Nottingham’s premier steak restaurant and offers diners a unique and fun dining experience. The restaurant is small yet the space is used very well with a comfortable lounge area, bar and a two-floor dining room featuring a mezzanine dining area. The room is packed with 60’s memorabilia and lyrics printed on the walls and a Lambretta scooter in the window! The Soulville Steakhouse serves its food to a soundtrack of classic soul and Motown via a vintage 1964 chrome Wurlitzer jukebox. Customers are invited to choose the music which is set to free play at all times.
The vibrant and lively atmosphere is only silenced when the food is brought out the table. This American-style diner serves monster portions of delicious steaks from a refined fillet, all the way up to a monster T-bone. All steaks come with what can only be described as a mountain of chunky chips, salad, tomatoes, mushrooms and onion rings. Don’t forget to order one of the delicious sauces which include peppercorn and red wine and mushroom. There is also a good selection of chicken, pasta and vegetarian dishes on offer but the steak really is the show-stopper. The full menu is available from 12pm onwards though there is also a lunch menu for £6.95 which is extremely good value for money.
The restaurant is a popular choice for parties and groups with tables from 2 all the way up to 70. Diners are able to choose to be on the first floor or the second floor which can offer couples a more intimate experience if there is a particularly large table in. If you haven’t visited Soulville Steakhouse yet, do. It offers a memorable dining experience that will have you smiling from ear to ear and planning your next visit. A real slice of American dining in the heart of Nottingham.
