Since opening its doors in 2006, Tarn Thai has become one of the most popular restaurants in Nottingham. Based on George Street in Nottingham’s city centre, just round the corner from Lloyds No. 1 Bar and directly opposite the Nottingham Arts Theatre it is centrally located and set far enough back from the main stretch to offer diners a peaceful dining experience whilst only being a minute away from Nottingham’s lively nightlife scene.
The service at the restaurant is efficient and unobtrusive, allowing guests to really sink in to the calming environment that the owners have created. The restaurant is a Thai paradise, bathed in gentle candle light and packed with authentic Thai artefacts. The tables are well-spaced and offer large, armchair style seating rather than the typical spindly restaurant chairs you often see that can be particularly uncomfortable. This not only encourages guests to sink back and truly unwind but also helps to ensnare the senses and transport diners to Thailand just for a few hours.
The menu is packed with exquisite Thai cuisine which is prepared by Thai Chefs who have decades of experience creating beautiful, fragrant, flavourful food. Every dish is presented like a piece of art work. You will, of course, find classic dishes such as the Gaeng Kiew Waan Gai, also known as Thai green curry with chicken and Thai aubergines cooked in coconut milk and fresh chilli but you are encouraged to try something different as Tarn Thai offers a fantastic range of steamed fish dishes, stir fry’s, grills and noodles. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable and more than qualified to help you find a dish that you will love.
Tarn Thai offers a range of menu options including a bargain set lunch that is perfect for a business lunch or just as an escape from the hustle and bustle of the city centre. Tarn Thai is a truly exceptional restaurant and is ideal for get-togethers with long tables available, as well as romantic meals for two.
