Tom Browns restaurant in Gunthorpe, Nottinghamshire
Located on the banks of the River Trent in the idyllic settings of Gunthorpe, Tom Browns has been wowing guests since it first opened. This venue is a twenty-five minute drive East of Nottingham on the A52 and through East Bridgford, and is well worth the travelling time.
Tom Browns is renowned as one of Nottingham’s finest restaurants, picking up double AA Rosettes for the second year running and gaining entry in to the Good Food Guide. The building that houses the restaurant is impressive and dates back to the 19th century, with the name of the venue being derived from a novel written by Thomas Hughes that depicted a boy called Tom Brown in the 19th century public school days. This establishment is vast and boasts a number of dining rooms; the rear of which is ideal for private functions of up to 40 guests, the main room is perfect for intimate meals for up to 20 guests with its feature exposed brickwork, and the mezzanine floor overlooking the river on one side the main room on the other will make any meal special. In the summer months, guests are welcome to use the decked area to the front of the building to catch some rays and enjoy a cold drink.
Guests have been returning to this venue time after time not just for the stunning views, but also for the food, which is prepared using the very best of seasonal, local produce and prepared in a modern way. The menu is updated seasonally and at this moment in time you can enjoy dishes such as Pork Three Ways; crispy pork belly, pork fillet and a pork hot pot with crackling, poached baby apples, mustard mash and a cider jus, and Sea Bream; seared fillets of tender sea bream with a salt cod potato cake, a fennel salad and a spinach and sorrel cream sauce. As well as this there is a good choice of steaks from the grill which come cooked to your liking.
Tom Brown’s is well worth venturing outside of the city for. The delicious food, stunning views and welcoming staff make this a restaurant that you will never want to leave.

This was our first visit to Tom Browns and we will definitely be visiting again. The Early Bird menu was generally good value, though I paid a supplement for the monkfish which was overpriced for a very small serving and a bit ruinous to breadcrumb monkfish. Still everything was lovely and the place was packed which is a great sign for a Monday night!

Just to say thanks to 'Go dine' for arranging our special request when booking our meal for Tom Browns. We had a lovely meal and really appreciate the effort you went to.
The meal itself was really good. A couple of the dishes were slightly disappointing but on a whole great food, good value and excellent service - Best service we've had in some time.
Lovely restaurant which I'd highly recommend, and great service when booking through 'Go dine'.
