The open plan kitchen means that diners are able to watch their food being prepared by the highly skilled Chefs. All food is cooked to order and there is an emphasis on natural flavours and colours. Sourcing the best seasonal local produce, Tonic cater for all; offering a menu to please diners of all tastes, needs and time constraints. The menu changes with the seasons and currently features dishes such as the ‘Old Spot’ Pork Tenderloin served with Pommes Anna, Apples, Pumpkin and a Cider Dressing; Roast Sea Bass on a bed of tomato and lemon risotto with a red pepper sauce and basil flavours, and Roasted Goosnargh Chicken Breast and Stuffed Leg with a potato and spinach terrine, carrots and a red wine jus. There is also a good selection of vegetarian dishes on the menu as well as a value for money pre-theatre and early evening menu.

A true rising star in the Nottingham restaurant scene, Tonic’s impressive attention to detail has earned them the ‘Best Newcomer’ as well as being runners up in ‘Best Design’ and ‘Best Use of Local Produce’ in the Nottingham Restaurant Awards 2007. This recognition was followed up in the 2008 Awards in which Tonic was awarded runner up in the Nottingham restaurant of the year.
